Q and A: Wedding Reception: Planning an Adult Reception

Ask Susan
Updated : 24 Mar 2009

Q. I am planning an adults only wedding reception and a few of my bridesmaids have children. How do I approach them about this?

A: I suggest letting your bridesmaids know that you really want them to be able to relax and enjoy the wedding. You don’t want them having to worry about the children, you want them on the dance floor. You may want to offer a babysitting service in a room close to your reception as a option for child care.
