Happy Friday everyone. I hope you are looking forward to a wonderful long weekend. I know I am!
Last week one of my clients asked me whether or not she was required to invite her hairstylist to her wedding. I received some great comments from some wedding professionals around the country. Here are some of their answers:

Sounds like the stylist feels close enough to the bride to travel 2 hours and spend the night. I have been to several weddings not knowing anyone–she would be there for the bride–her friend. I think they should invite her and give a nice bonus for the travel expense the stylist has incurred. Best wishes!

Good advice to the mother of the bride. It would definitely depend on how comfortable the hair stylist is with attending the wedding. For instance, is she also friends with the the bride or the mother of the bride for that matter and would that make her more comfortable with attending the wedding reception?
Covering the stylist’s expenses is … definitely the minimal that should be done in order to minimize unforeseeable issues on the wedding day.
Perhaps they could at least invite her to attend the ceremony. It’s not often that hair stylists get to see their work at an actual wedding ceremony.

As a hairstylists that does hair and make-up for weddings…I personally am so worn out after doing a wedding party, that I don’t think I would want to be invited to the wedding! When I finish a wedding I just want to relax with a glass of wine. But that’s just me!

I get invited all the time. I think a lot of times it would be awkward because I don’t really know anyone else and a lot of times I just met the bride herself. However if it is a client from the salon I would most likely go because I have built a relationship with that person. Great article!
