Wedding Reception Inspiration: The Color Purple

Purple is a hot color for 2010. (Which is great because it is my favorite color!) Leave it to my good friend and fellow wedding planner, Lisa Konecny to be ahead of the trend and produce a stunning purple color scheme for her clients’ wedding.     What are thoughts on blues and purples for the wedding party? The groomsmen are in Blue Dress Military(gold piping & epaulets) uniforms and the bridesmaids will be in a plum/purple…Should we add some gold or yellow in the flowers to lighten it up? Any ideas?

    I love the idea of using purple and blue. Just keep in mind that the dark colors may look black in photographs. I would love to see a photo of the bridesmaids' dresses to give you an educated opinion on what to do with the flowers, but in general, adding gold or yellow will brighten up the look. Email me a photo and I will give you some additional ideas.
