Real Wedding Wednesdays: Susannah and David at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort

My associates, Karen and Kristin, had the pleasure of working with the lovely couple featured in today’s real wedding blog. Married at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort this past December, Susannah and David were happy to share their story with us.

With flowers provided by Special Event Floral exactly as the bride envisioned, the ceremony decor turned out beautifully! Thanks to Ginger Midgett Photography (http://www.gingermidgett.com/) for these terrific images. Please read on for Susannah and David’s real wedding experience, as related by the bride:

Susan: How did you and David meet?
Susannah: David and I met on E-Harmony. Our first date, I invited him to watch “The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown”, but was not used to the time zone change from MI, and asked him over the wrong time.

Susan: Tell us about the proposal.
Susannah: David and I always love going to downtown Chicago. We enjoy sitting by the river, walking Michigan Avenue, and just exploring the city. He proposed, sitting on the bench by the river on a beautiful 57-degree February day.

Susan: Why did you choose the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort for your wedding?
Susannah: We love FL, and we love Walt Disney World. We stayed at the Walt Disney World Dolphin last year around the same time as our wedding, and fell in love with the location. When we got engaged, we thought about location, and after a few struggles, we decided to call the Swan and Dolphin. They connected us with Just Marry! and Il Mulino, and the dream we had hoped for was brought alive.

Susan: What was it like for you on the morning of your wedding?
Susannah: The morning of the wedding was easy for both David and I. He noticed some chairs were not set up as discussed [at the rehearsal], but it was already taken care of by the time he mentioned it to Karen.

Susan: What was the most memorable part of the day for you and your spouse?
Susannah: Walking down the aisle, spending time with family and friends during the cocktail hour and dinner, and being able to mingle during dinner without the disruption of dancing or music were extremely memorable. The service at Il Mulino was superb, as were the meal, dessert, and overall accommodations.

Susan: Were there any particular elements of your wedding day that you considered unique or personal touches?
Susannah: I have spoken with lots of brides, and I have not run across another who had her father walk her down the aisle with Mickey Mouse gloves or had an uncle who put on a Goofy hat. Everyone embraced our decision to have our wedding at a place we loved so much.

Susan: Based off of your experience, would you share some advice for other brides and grooms who may still be planning their weddings?
Susannah: Using a company such as Just Marry! made our day perfect, easy, and stress free. I enjoyed it all!
