Today’s wedding blog takes us to the very popular honeymoon destination of Lake Tahoe. Spanning the states of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe’s spectacular vistas and relaxing retreats have drawn visitors for decades. This incredibly romantic honeymoon spot has much to offer!
Things to Do:
1. Participate in some winter sports. Many people think of snow-skiing when they think of Lake Tahoe, and with a number of incredible ski resorts along the shores of the lake, this is definitely an activity all honeymooners should consider. Other winter sports honeymooners in Lake Tahoe might enjoy include snowboarding, ice skating, sledding and sleigh rides.
2. Enjoy skiing of a different kind. Lake Tahoe’s amazing resorts are open year-round, so honeymooners with summer weddings can enjoy water sports rather than the snow. Try water-skiing, sailing, fishing and canoeing, among many other fun activities on the lake.
3. Try some more leisurely outdoor activities. Not interested in snow or water sports? How about horseback riding, golfing, hiking or sightseeing? Honeymooners in Lake Tahoe can go on Wine and Harvest tours, helicopter tours or even dinner cruises. Very romantic!
4. Explore local entertainment options. For honeymooners who prefer more social forms of entertainment, Lake Tahoe also offers an abundance of engaging options. For example, you could check out local cultural sites such as the Washoe Indian Cultural Exhibit, the Lake Tahoe Historical Society Museum or the Gatekeeper’s Cabin Museum. And with local parks, spas, casinos and clubs situated all along the lake, there is no end to the entertainment options for honeymooners.
