Usually when a bride thinks of a castle wedding, she envisions a trip abroad…or perhaps a magical event within view of Cinderella’s famous home. The wedding location featured in today’s real wedding blog, however, is a “castle” located no further than the coast of the Delaware River in Delran, New Jersey.
Rebecca and Michael were married last May in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by family and friends. With photography by Scott Nibauer (http://www.lnphoto.com/) and floral by Ziegfield Florist (http://www.ziegfieldflorist.com/), their wedding turned out to be everything the happy couple envisioned!
Before the wedding, they went to Philadelphia for photos because that is where they met.
The bride and groom were married on a Friday by the Mayor of Pennsauken. With a violinist playing Broadway tunes and “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”, the bride was escorted down the aisle by both of her parents.
Deciding to brush off tradition, Rebecca opted to have a “bridesman” on her side. She also wrote the wedding ceremony and her own vows.
The couple had their menu, invitations, table cards, and logo personally designed by Cory cards. They decided to name the tables after all of the places they had visited together, telling their guests the story of why those places were significant to them.
At the reception, Rebecca and Michael entered to the NFL theme song since they watch football every Sunday. Because they support opposing teams, they each wore the jerseys of their favorite teams when they were introduced.
Some unique touches at Rebecca and Michael’s wedding included giving a donation to the Cancer society in memory of Michael’s dad and having a belly dancer perform during the cocktail hour since the bride dances.
