Hot Color Combos for Summer 2010 Weddings

Happy Friday everyone! It is a glorious, sunshiny day here in Orlando. It is perfect weather for weddings or wedding planning! Looking out at all the beautiful flowering plants, the blue sky and the gorgeous sunshine makes me think about color. So, today’s wedding blog is going to be all about the hot color combinations for summer 2010 weddings. If you haven’t made your final selections, I think you might find some inspiration here.

Gold with the complimentary colors Pink Champagne and Fusion Coral. Doesn’t the gold remind you of sunshine? I can’t think of a more stunning color for the summer. The pink and coral colors give you so many options for flowers. I see coral bridesmaid’s dresses with gold and pale pink flowers. Gold linens with rich coral and pale pink flowers on the table would be gorgeous as well.

Pink Champagne (soft pink) with the complimentary colors light gray and chocolate brown
We have seen pale pink and chocolate brown in recent years, but adding the light gray as an accent is something fresh. Pale pink and light gray both are great colors for dresses and the chocolate brown would make a huge statement with your linens.

turquoisecolors.jpg
Turquoise with the complimentary colors Tuscany Beige and Marigold Yellow. This combination reminds me of sitting by the pool. If you are having an outdoor wedding, or if you want to bring the outdoors inside, this is the perfect color scheme for you. A fun and easy DIY table scape would be to use turquoise linens with a Marigold table runner (or chair sash) then add a large glass bubble bowl filled with sand (Tuscany Beige colored) and sea shells.

Deep Violet (Indigo) with the complimentary colors navy and fuchsia. This color combination is so dramatic! Imagine fuchsia bridesmaids dresses and big bunches of violet hydrangeas. Stunning! How about navy linens with violet hydrangeas and fuchsia roses in a tall glass vase?

navycolors.jpg
Deep Navy with the complimentary colors of Aurora Yellow and Aquarium Blue. This combination reminds me of the ocean. I think that either blue color is easier to wear than the yellow, so when it comes to bridesmaids dresses, select from one of the blues. Navy table linens and chair covers with either Aquarium Blue or Aurora Yellow chair sashes and napkins would be stunning.

This is perfect! I'm getting married next summer and I fell in love with the first combination on your list. What are some gold flowers you recommend including?

  • Susan Southerland

That's a great question, Diana. Sunflowers are a great choice. Roses, orchids, and gerbera daisies all have gold-colored varieties as well. I found a gorgeous bouquet with gold-toned flowers on papertini.com. Check out this link: http://tinyurl.com/3456qz2. Good luck!
