Invitation Inspiration: Moody Blues

Have you ever wondered what a “recipe” for the perfect wedding invitation would look like? Sure, it would have to include all of the “main ingredients” (pertinent details of your special day), but the real flavor comes in when you add a hint of color, a dash of style and, when possible, a pinch of passion from a custom invitation professional.

I can always count on stationery guru Amy Morelli for inspirational images for our wedding blog! Check out these stunning wedding invitations that she created for one of her clients…

President and Creative Director of 2u Collection, Amy Morelli says, “This bride came to me with a moody, dark and romantic Anthropologie-esque idea for her wedding planning. She didn’t have colors or anything in mind yet, and asked me to go crazy!

I used midnight metallic paper with opal and toffee metallic paper to complement. We used shades of brown, cyan and turquoise to brighten up and give pop to the dark, moody feeling. Antique looking graphics and embellishments finished off the look.”

Thank you, Amy, for sharing these inspiring creations with us here at the wedding blog! When choosing your wedding stationery, be sure to consider elements like the ones included in the example above:

– A complementary color palette
– Ribbon or fabric details with rich textures
– Whimsical touches such as beads, jewels or hardware

Follow this formula and your adventurous, elegant wedding invitations will set the tone for what guests can expect on your wedding day!
