Bridal shows are a great place to get wedding ideas. Where else can you find dozens (if not hundreds) of wedding professionals in one location ready and waiting to show you samples of their work and give you ideas for your wedding?
So what can you expect at a bridal show? And how can you get the most from them? I went to a couple of our wedding show producers to get their thoughts.
- Information, information, information! – from prices to experience to “what’s included” in that package, brides should use the shows to get informed.
- Savings – My vendors tell me first hand that they run specials at our show that they don’t run any other time of the year. Brides should expect a promotion at shows, but also be willing to put down a deposit or schedule a follow-up meeting to “claim the deal”!
- Prizes – we all love to win something and it can turn a “trade show” effect into a WOW effect with just a simple prize to a ‘grand’ prize!
- I encourage brides to bring their cameras, notebooks – whatever they need to get the most from the show. When the bride leaves our show, she should have some of “to-dos” crossed off or at least appointments with vendors in the upcoming days after the show to get it done!

Brandi Zrallack, Perfect Wedding Guide, Orlando, FL adds that brides are “able to taste food and cake samples to find that perfect baker or caterer, they can see fashions and even purchase a gown at a discounted price and they can gain new and unique ideas for their weddings from tablescapes to bouquets and more.”
Remember to wear comfortable shoes, bring two bags (one for information on services you really want and another for brochures that don’t interest you), print labels with your name, address, email, phone number and wedding date to put on sign up sheets and be prepared to have fun!
