A Multi-Cultural Melting Pot: The Real Wedding of Sarah and Sean

I love seeing real weddings where the culture and traditions of both bride and groom are observed. In Sarah and Sean’s case, they combined separate traditional Christian and Indian ceremonies into one gorgeous and memorable wedding day! This July 2011 San Francisco wedding took place in Union Square, near Sarah’s family business, New Delhi Restaurant.

Claire Bentley, of Andrew Freeman & Co, shared this description of the day’s events, on behalf of the happy couple, “Sarah and her family chose to incorporate the cultural communities of both bride and groom with Indian and Christian customs into two ceremonies. Sarah plays an integral role at New Delhi and has a unique bond with her father (owner and chef); therefore wanted to hold the wedding close to the restaurant.

Sarah and Sean’s ceremonies began at 1 o’clock on Saturday, July 23rd. The rituals began with a traditional Christian ceremony where all guests were welcome. Refreshments and preparation for the Indian ceremony followed. At 2:30pm the lovely bride and groom arrived in Palki on a horse which lead into a traditional Indian ceremony. Dinner followed the ceremonies at 5pm at New Delhi and lead into an industry after party to top off the day’s festivities.”

Our thanks to Sarah and Sean for sharing their special day with our wedding blog readers! Do you have a real wedding story to share? Contact us if you’re interested; you could be the next couple featured!

Lovely blend of east meets west with all the heart felt trimmings!  My good friend-customer Anne attended the event.  She herself wore 4 different Serrahna outfits to the event.  It was quite the do!
