Worried about choosing a wedding venue that is too big or too small for your event? Today, I’ll walk you through a few important things to consider when choosing the right size venue for your ceremony and reception.
The first thing you need to consider is what type of wedding do you envision? Are you planning an intimate cozy wedding for just a few of your closest friends and family members? Or are planning a big blow out affair for hundreds of people? You have to keep your guest count in mind. Different venues hold different amounts of guests. You don’t want to be someplace that’s too big for you or too small. You also want to consider the fact that you need to fit more than just your guests seating and their tables in the room. You have a dance floor, you may have a stage for a band, you may be having a DJ which takes up a little less space. Also, what type of meal service are you going to have? If it’s a sit down dinner that takes up less room than if you’re having a buffet or stations.
When you visit your venue of choice, ask them if they can provide you a room diagram with the number of people that you plan on having at your wedding. That way you can see how everything lays out in the room before you sign a contract. So take these simple tips and do some advanced planning, and you’ll find the perfect size venue for your reception!
