"Today Show" co-host Savannah Guthrie recently got the surprise of a lifetime when her boyfriend of four years popped the question. People magazine reports the morning show anchor got her dream ring and her dream guy over Mother's Day weekend. She announced the happy news during the May 13 edition of her show.

Guthrie said "yes" to beau Michael Feldman, a political and communications advisor and flashed her ring to her co-hosts before telling them and the crowd about her and Feldman's special weekend. She added the engagement just feels right since they've been together so long and their families already get along great.

"Our families basically have been in-laws for years," Guthrie told the audience according to the news outlet. "They've just been waiting for us to catch up."

Guthrie's co-host Matt Lauer made sure to toast the newly-engaged couple.

"Good for you and congratulations to Mr. Feldman," Lauer told the crowd. "He's a great guy."

The NBC Today Show's official website shared many messages of congratulations for the couple. Star Jones tweeted, "Congrats to my colleague and friend @SavannahGuthrie on her engagement! Yayyyyy @todayshow throws a wedding!"

Other TV personalities like Natalie Morales, Anne Thompson and even actor Bradley Cooper, who was a guest on the show May 13, took the time to congratulate Guthrie and Feldman.

Perhaps Guthrie will take Jones' idea to heart and work their wedding planning into the "Today Show," though it's likely she and her new fiancé will look for other unique wedding venues for their big day.

People reports Guthrie might already have an idea of what she does and doesn't like in a wedding since this will be her second trip down the aisle. She was previously married to BBC News presenter Mark Orchard from 2005 to 2009.
