Fun Uses of Personal Photos for Wedding Decor

Personalizing your wedding decor continues to be a huge trend, and a great way to do that is to incorporate photos of yourselves! In today’s video, Perfect Wedding Guide‘s National Wedding Expert, Susan Southerland shares her ideas to get you thinking creatively about how to display your wedding photos.

  • Use your engagement photo on the guest book table or where guests pick up their table number cards
  • Use a framed photo with a ribbon hanger as chair or pew decor
  • Use frames photos from your different activities or vacations as table decor during your cocktail hour or reception
  • Give a small framed photo of yourselves as a wedding favor
  • Have your guests sign a blank mat instead of a guest book, then display it in your home framing your wedding photo
  • Create a PowerPoint slide show and play it for your guests during the cocktail hour or prior to your entrance into the reception
  • Get creative and use photos from your childhood all the way to your engagement, or photos from past generations of your family weddings

DIY Kentucky Wedding by Morgan Marie Photography

Today’s charming real wedding takes us to the beautiful state of Kentucky courtesy of Morgan Marie Photography. Crafty bride Rachel Gossett took a hands-on approach to planning her wedding to groom Nathan Ross. And the details are nothing short of amazing!

As told by Rachel: I’m a DIY type of person so I wanted to be very “hands-on” for my wedding. So with the help of my sister and mom, we made basically everything from the invitations to programs to the candy favor bags and even the decorations. Many of my ideas came from pictures I found on different wedding websites and blogs. The cake stand was actually made by my bother-in-law and was used in his and mysister’s wedding as well. I didn’t have a wedding planner instead, I had a binder full of ideas, tips, tricks, and wedding vendors which I had gathered on my own or were found by my sister. I tried to make my and Nathan’s special day, as special as possible. At the end of the day, I married my best friend and nothing could have topped that.

We love it! It’s sweet photos like this that make us here at the wedding blog totally gush! Thanks again to Morgan Marie and a congrats to Rachel and Nathan!
