Vintage English Garden: The Real Wedding of Erica & Dave

Today’s real wedding comes to us from photographer Daniel Marks of dmfoto on behalf of Historic Mankin Mansion. Erica and Dave incorporated both romantic and modern touches in several creative ways. Their English garden setting provided the backdrop for their vintage color scheme of fuchsia, pink, and sapphire blue.

“Erica is the first to admit that she was ‘one of those girls’ who grew up planning their wedding and her hope for her ‘Big Day’ was to find a unique venue in which to celebrate. The couple both have an interest in music, which served as an inspiration for much of the wedding day design. The music for each of the ‘big’ wedding moments was carefully selected while the favors became CD’s of the important songs they played that evening. Additionally, each table was named after songs and the guests were delighted to find their respective escort cards attached to keys hanging on a shabby chic styled door with the sign Our Soundtrack- Find your Lyrics,” says photographer Daniel Marks.

As for the day itself, Erica told us, “And when the day finally arrived and my bridesmaids and I drove up to the Mansion, it took my breath away. My vision was coming to life before my very eyes—from the English garden theme, the welcome gazebo complete with a Polaroid station, to the amazing flowers and vintage color palette. I wanted to create a unique experience for our guests.”

Our thanks to Erica and Dave for sharing photos of their special day! If you’d like your story and photos featured on the wedding blog, please contact us!
