Out of all the wedding dress trends for the year 2012, black wedding gowns definitely made the biggest impression on us here at the wedding blog. Designers Vera Wang and Romona Keveza showcased raven-hued ball gowns, cocktail dresses and evening wear (which could double as second-dress options) at last year’s bridal market, leaving editors and buyers pleasantly surprised. The contrast offers a refreshing alternative from the classic stark white or off-white wedding dress for the fashion-conscious or off-breat bride. But we want to know, would you don an all black dress for your wedding? To see more black wedding dresses, visit our gown gallery at PerfectWeddingGuide.com.

NYC Bridal Market: Romona Keveza
By Wedding Blog Contributor Ivette Manners
Romona Keveza’s spring 2012 Couture and Legends bridal collections presented at the regal St. Regis hotel featured the types of dresses almost every girl imagines she’d wear when she gets married. Her Couture collection was dominated by silk organza, 3-D flower petals, and ball gown silhouettes.
The Legends line was inspired by the ladies who literally get to marry their Prince Charming, in particular Kate Middleton wedding Prince William this month and Charlene Wittstock marrying Prince Albert of Monaco in July. These gorgeous gowns were a modern take on timeless classics using current trends like lace sleeves, illusion necklines, full veils, and long trains. Keeping with the royal theme, the dresses were accessorized with 17 and 27 Carat diamond and white gold tiaras custom-made by Chopard, flown in from Geneva just for Keveza’s fashion show.
