Welcome to Head Over Heels, the Wedding Planning blog for Perfect Wedding Guide. My name is Susan Southerland and I have been a wedding planner for more than 17 years. Weddings today are often loaded with stress and pressure to overspend, over impress and be over-the-top. Brides are bombarded with images of wildly expensive weddings and with messages insisting that they host the event of the decade. The goal of this wedding blog is to help couples and their families create beautiful, unique weddings that reflect their personality and style and create an atmosphere of warmth and celebration – regardless of budget or income level.
My wedding blog features tips on everything from bridal wear and bridesmaids to wedding workshops and vendors. In addition, each week I post pictures of real weddings with great ideas on color themes, wedding dresses, overcoming challenges and more.
With the number of wedding blogs out there on the internet it’s easy to get caught up in all the extravagant wedding pictures and ideas. With my wedding blog I hope to express to all the brides out there that it’s not a competition. The most important thing to remember when planning your wedding is to be true to yourself. You may not have the most expensive flowers or a 20-tier cake, but if everything suits your personality it will truly be the perfect wedding.
You can read more about my credentials and see some of my work at my company website www.justmarry.com and at susansoutherland.com. You can also view a demo of my new DVD “Susan Southerland’s Just Marry! Wedding Planning Secrets” by going to www.justmarrydvd.com.
I hope you enjoy my wedding blog. Make sure to give me feedback! I would love to hear your thoughts.

Maureen Chapdelaine is Wedding Blog’s Mother of the Bride. While helping plan her daughter’s wedding, Maureen discovered there were no websites devoted to Mothers of the Bride. It was not long after “I Do” that Maureen created The MOB Blog, a wedding site written specifically for Mothers of the Bride. The MOB Squad, a gathering of women who have a unique role in the wedding process, write current and enlightening articles to assist mothers in their new role as Mother of the Bride. She went on to initiate the Facebook Group, The Mother of the Bride – The MOB ,to offer Mothers of the Bride a venue for sharing stories, ideas and asking questions of other MOB. “It’s an energetic, fun group of very helpful ladies.” Maureen and her daughter, Kate, co-authored the humorous and insightful wedding book; Not My Mother’s Wedding, where they focus on the Mother-Daughter relationship in wedding planning. Maureen has been featured in Runner’s World and WineMaker magazines and is a member of Connecticut Author and Publishers Association. Maureen’s mission is to provide Mothers of the Bride with an on-line site for networking with other Mothers of the Bride as well as a resource for gathering wedding information specific to the Mother of the Bride.
