JoAnn's Bridal in Texas is giving away free wedding dresses to brides who are currently in the military or their husbands-to-be are serving their country, according to the news channel KCEN-TV.
Jessica Kapavik is the owner of the boutique, and explained that she is thrilled to give back to the many individuals who are in the military. She was also surprised at the amount of people who showed up, according to the media outlet.
The first in line, Army veteran Dana Larsen, was waiting 30 hours before the event began. Her fiance is currently in Iraq, which is where they first met.
"We started talking when we got back...and then we were friends, and kind of just started dating and we've been together and in love ever since," she told the news provider.
It took Larsen 12 dresses before she found the one.
At the end of the event, 38 brides found
beautiful wedding dresses for their special day as 240 were on display, the news source reports.
This event has been taking place all over the country. According to the news channel WDAF-TV, a bridal store gave away nearly 100 gowns to military brides in Overland Park, Kansas, earlier this month.
