Prince William and Kate Middleton's April nuptials were an event that many will not forget anytime soon. As Bridal Fashion Week hit New York, many expected replicas of Middleton's dress to walk the runway. However, it did not make the cut, according to Wall Street Journal.
One designer explained that the five years ago every bride wanted strapless. But it has been a trend before Middleton's dress for women to wear sleeves.
"The trend is going the exact opposite," designer Gregory Nato told the news source. "A modern bride is creating an original event for herself. She’s bringing her personality into it. Tea length is huge. Most of our dresses are tea length. If you’re spending a lot of money on shoes, why is it covered by the dress?"
However, the Duchess of Cambridge did make quite a splash when it came to other fashion trends besides her
beautiful wedding dress. According to the Daily Mail, Middleton turned navy blue into the new black, and nude pumps became something that every celeb had in their closet.
