Saving on wedding dresses

Sticker shock is something many brides-to-be feel when they start wedding dress shopping, according to the news channel WPTV-TV. However, there are some ways in which people can save on their gowns for their special day.
Wedding dress prices can reach up to well into the thousands, the news source reports. It is possible to shave some of that price without losing the "wow" factor when walking down the aisle including trying to stay away from the dresses that are showcased in the window. More common than not, bridal salon dresses are more expensive. Keeping the dress simple but elegant - without frills and detail - will save a couple dollars as well, the news source reports.
According to Walletpop, another big way to save while shopping for a wedding dress would be to limit the amount of alterations. Each time a bride needs another change, it is more money that goes into the dress. If a bride needs them, they should look into an independent tailor because they will most likely not charge as much.
