When a bride purchases her dream designer wedding dress, it's safe to say she will want to keep it under lock and key. Perhaps that's why the actions of one Wisconsin woman aren't so surprising.
According to WEAU 13 News, while Alena Gadke was
planning a wedding with her main squeeze, her dress was stolen from a family storage unit. The incident was nothing short of heart-wrenching.
"At first I was really upset when I saw that the dress was missing, and then I just got kind of mad," she tells told the news outlet.
Although Gadke spoke with police, the aisle-bound woman couldn't sit idle. Instead, she went onto Craigslist to do some digging - and shockingly discovered her beautiful gown was up for sale.
"When I found the dress, like on Craigslist I was just thinking, this can't be possible, there's no way!" she told the news outlet.
Police soon got involved and arrested the culprits - 17-year-old Coty R. Kimball and 23-year-old Christopher Anderson.
Women who are worried about the safety of their wedding dress after it's purchased don't have to leave it in a storage facility. Friends or family members who have extra space may be happy to watch over it before the big day.
