Across the U.S., more jewelers are selling engagement rings to women who are looking to propose to their boyfriend. This way, the man is showing his pre-commitment to marriage, as the women do when they wear their engagement rings after a proposal, according to the media outlet.
"Men and women both wear engagement rings in a lot of countries around the world," Amanda Gizzi of the Jewelry Information Center told the news source. "For the United States it has never been our tradition. Therefore, it is a foreign concept to most people."
However, this idea really taking off before two people start
planning a wedding may not happen anytime soon. Despite this hesitance, it is common in other countries for the male to also wear an engagement ring, the publication reports.
