Unprofessional, missed garter and bouquet toss

My wife and I married on 10-6-2012. I took care of finding a videographer and hired DCMGMT Creative Videography. The reason why I am just now producing a review years later is because every time I look at the video this company made I want to turn it off because of all the horrible memories that came at the cost of the video I received from DCMGMT Creative Videography. So I got fed up and decided to finally post a review. I did my research, asked many questions and then signed a contract, paid the down payment and was told Chad and his wife would be the ones at the wedding taking the video. However, a week before my wedding Chad had to take a trip to a different state (New York or something) for a business opportunity (is what he said) and that his wife and another would be there instead. However, the only way I found out about this was because my mother called Chad to get all the specifics and was wanting to schedule a time during the wedding where she could borrow one of the two videographers to have certain people talk on video and wish us a happy marriage (you know moms) and that is when she found out that Chad wasn't even going to show up and then she told me. Was Chad going to tell me of this change? Probably not since it was a week before my wedding. Very unprofessional. And if Chad had shown up instead of his replacement I am sure the problems I have to say below would have been avoided. During the wedding I met Chad's wife (its been a couple years and I have forgotten her name) and another gentlemen named Vincent who was the stand in for Chad. He was very quiet, didn't talk, didn't really do anything besides listen to Chad's wife tell him what to do. I could tell the guy was fresh off the street and was being trained but my mind was focused on the wedding and I was getting married in an hour and had no time to worry about it. The wedding came and went. I paid extra for the raw data to be put on an external HDD and dropped it off at Chad's home. Weeks went by and then received the completed video and HDD containing the raw data on it. I watched it all the way through and immediately questioned...'where is the bouquet and garter toss?' I went through all the raw data and found no traces of it. In fact, on top of not being able to find any footage of the bouquet or garter toss I also saw that all the videos recorded from one of the cameras had a black spec in the middle of them. The other camera's recordings didn't have it so it looked like the lens hadn't been cleaned properly before the wedding. I contacted Chad and he said he had no footage of the bouquet or garter toss on his end. And I think to myself...'Chad, the hours you spent creating the edited and buffed 5 minute Blueray DVD you didn't think it was odd that there was no footage of a bouquet or garter toss? Maybe this should of been something to verify with me? Maybe you would have known about this if you had actually shown up for the wedding instead of blowing it off?' After numerous calls back n forth and having Chad talk to his wife and the other videographer we found out that 1. yes there was a black spec on the film and 2. there was no footage of the bouquet or garter toss. Obviously I was furious. I paid money and it was a once in a lifetime shot and got a black spec on half my videos, including the 5 minute edited video that is supposed to go out to all my family and there was absolutely no footage of the bouquet or garter toss. After more phone calls and putting together time stamps of the wedding we found out that my mother had asked Chad's wife if her and several other people could say a few words to the married couple behind a closed door (because of the loud music) on camera (Yes I know it was probably not a smart move on my mothers part but that is why she had discussed it with Chad a week before the wedding and also knew there was going to be another videographer in case anything was missed) which happened to be during the bouquet and garter toss. Fine, I understand that, but what about the other videographer? Firstly, when Chad had asked Vincent about the missing footage he stated he didn't remember and he might have been using the restroom during the bouquet and garter toss. Okay...so I went through all the pictures from the photographer, which was a different company from the videographer and I saw pictures of the garter toss and guess who I saw way in the back in the pictures? You guessed it. I saw Vincent standing way in the back with the video camera around his neck dangling while he just stood there and watched the garter toss. The guy had no clue and had no business taking Chad's place. I showed the picture to Chad, Chad showed it to Vincent and Chad said that Vincent had no reason to excuse himself so he was laid off. That was not the outcome I wanted. What I wanted was Chad to admit his mistake that he should have been there instead of hiring a new guy to do his work for him. To make things worse, both my parents and my in-laws were behind the closed door and because the garter or bouquet toss was not on video they will never be able to see it and my wife and I will never be able to relive it. Okay, so the damage is done. There is no way to get the bouquet and garter toss on video. Chad never voluntarily offered compensation for the mess he created. And moving onto the black spec on half the videos. I had to watch the 5 minute video several times and write down time stamps of where this black spec appeared. Since there were a lot of black tuxedos and the wedding was at night there wasn't as near as many places that was obvious. But the obvious places where you could clearly see a black spec in the middle of the video I wrote down. Back n forth I contacted Chad, he would send me a new revised video and I would find more mistakes and over a period of weeks we got the 5 minute video to the point where it wasn't an eye sore to watch trying to look past a black spec. And again Chad never offered compensation for the hours I spent finding his mistakes. Bottom line, DCMGMT Creative Videography was the worse business I have ever worked with. I hired them and trusted that they knew what they were doing and would get the job done right but too many mistakes happened and I will never be able to relive the bouquet or garter toss. The entire process was very unprofessional, the owner had more important things to do on my wedding and hired a warm body in his place and never had any intention to notify me. I spent hours upon hours trying to prove Chad's mistakes and get him to fix them. It was a complete nightmare and I would never recommend DCMGMT Creative Videography.

I cannot say enough about Chad and Melissa with DCMGMT. We chose them to be our videographer and our photo booth vendor for our wedding this past June. From the moment I met them, they made me feel so comfortable and at ease with all things wedding. Throughout the planning process and the day of the wedding, anytime I had ideas or questions, they were quick to respond and accommodated any crazy idea I came up with. Our guests made several comments of how friendly and fun they were. Besides them being so great to work with, the finished product was amazing. I can't tell you how many people have said it's the best wedding recap video they've ever seen. They captured the feeling of the wedding perfectly! Now we have the perfect way to remember our perfect day.

We chose DCMGMT to photograph our wedding, and we were very happy with our choice! This wonderful couple works seamlessly together so that every moment gets captured... Both posed and candid. DCMGMT's prices were lower than all the other companies we considered. Our pictures were edited in a very timely manner, were professional quality, and were even uploaded to an Internet photography site for us so we could instantly start ordering pictures. Chad and Melissa were professionally dressed, prepared, early, creative, and skilled at making everyone feel at ease on our very important day. We also chose DCMGMT to take "after the wedding" photos of us since my husband and I did not see each other before the wedding. Many of my favorite wedding pictures came from this session. It was so fun to get all dressed up again and take beautiful pictures in a relaxed, no rush setting. You can not go wrong with this wonderful company!

We chose to use DCMGMT Creative for our wedding photographer and videographer because of a CD we received at a bridal show. I watched some of the wedding videos they had put together and I literally started crying because I had never seen anything like it before, beautiful. We used them for both video and photo and the pricing was lower than quotes we had received previously for just photography! They are great and very talented, original people. I highly recommend them!
