First Unitarian Church
A celebration of commitment between two people should be a memorable occasion. It is a rite of passage as they leave behind the single state and embrace being a couple. First Unitarian, located at the junction of Comanche and Carlisle in central Albuquerque, has a 3.5-acre campus that features New Mexican brick and stucco buildings and native desert plantings. Our Sanctuary, which seats 350, is available for rental by anyone for wedding ceremonies and vow renewals. It includes a state of the art audio-visual system. The Social Hall, which includes a full catering kitchen, is suitable for catered events and groups as large as 200. We have several spaces available for brides and grooms to prepare before the ceremony; a wildlife garden perfect for photos; and a professional staff ready to assist you on your important day. Unitarian Universalist ministers are available to perform marriages and vows renewals, but you are welcome to provide your own officiant. Primary to all aspects of Unitarian Universalist theology is our belief in the spiritual authority of each individual. We impose no creed on members; we cherish the right of each of us to come to our own beliefs and to symbolize those beliefs in our own way. This autonomy applies to our beliefs about marriage as much as our beliefs about theology. Our institutions support the formation of family by couples of same and opposite sexes, and work for the full rights in society of same-sex couples. We have wedding packages for a variety of budgets and styles. Please contact our Church Administrator at 505-884-1801 or firstname.lastname@example.org to find out how we can help you host a memorable and meaningful event.
