Truly one of the best decisions I made for my wedding. I met Celeste and Natalie about 18 months before my wedding at a bridal show and knew that they were who I wanted to work with to create my custom gown. About 6 months before our day, I contacted them and we began the amazing process of making my dress. I felt so incredibly involved and informed the entire time. From deciding on a style, to choosing my lace, and every fitting, it was so easy and these ladies made me feel so comfortable. Having it custom made, my dress fit like a glove. It was absolutely perfect! Everyone said that it was the most beautiful wedding dress they'd ever seen and I felt absolutely stunning in it. I would suggest Krustallo's to every bride!

When my daughter and I began the search for her perfect wedding gown, we began visiting every bridal store within a thirty mile radius of her home. The routine was the same at each of the first four stores—choose several gowns which appealed to her, put them on her 90 pound, 4’10” frame, and use giant clips to hold the gown together in the back as she tried to get some semblance of what the gown would look like in her size. While all the shops treated us well—we were offered champagne, snacks, and dedicated service—the experience, to be honest, seemed very commercialized. Furthermore, we learned that unless my daughter loved every bit of the gown (sleeves or no, waistline, décor, etc.), the price would climb very quickly. Hemming? $300 minimum. Raising up the neckline (too low cut for her taste)? $400. Adding a bit of lacy sleeve? No, it can’t be done. After several stores, we thought we had the idea. Then, late in the afternoon, we pulled up to Krustallos Couture. When we walked in to Krustallos, we were briefly confused. There were only eight or ten bridal gowns displayed on racks, and no commercialized atmosphere. Having had a mother who made my own bridal gown, however, we quickly understood what we had found—a custom bridal shop! Celeste, in her friendly and approachable manner, explained that she would sketch the design the bride had in mind, and create a gown custom made to the bride’s specifications—in terms of both style and size. We were instantly transfixed. This would be an entirely different experience than those giant clips. Spending the kind of money a bridal gown costs made a lot more sense now! Before we left that first day, Celeste had sketched my daughter’s ideas, and given us a basic idea of the cost. We were very surprised to learn that the dress she had in mind would be less expensive than the off the rack ones we had seen at the other stores—and it would be one-of-a-kind! Our experience—and I call this an experience, because each time we visited Celeste and Natalie, we felt the process of creating a custom gown was nothing like simply purchasing a mass-produced gown (even if it was ordered from Europe)—continued when we returned in a couple of weeks to choose lace. Celeste produced several choices, including a variety of patterns and types. We chose an Italian guipiere, in a beautiful ivory which complemented my daughter’s skin tone. The underlying dress would be silk, in a slightly lighter shade to highlight the lace. When the fabrics arrived, Celeste asked us to return to view the materials, to be certain we loved them. We were developing a greater understanding of just how special this experience would be! As Celeste progressed through the process of designing and sewing my daughter’s dress, the bride was called in regularly for fittings. Using a muslin underdress initially (until the fit could be assured), Celeste cut the lace and shaped it into a bodice and skirt, and devised a way to use the lace edging and a second piece in the back of the dress to form a train. Always noting what the bride preferred, Celeste and Natalie constantly made adjustments, including everything from the curve of the neckline to the length of the train. At one point, the bride had a minor panic attack that she might want to make major changes, but even this did not faze our intrepid dressmakers. They simply assured my daughter that their goal was to create a dress she loved, and if she wasn’t happy, they would continue working until she was. (After trying on the partially finished gown in the presence of trusted friends, the bride was reassured that the original design was perfectly suited to both her personality and her physical characteristics.) You can tell someone who truly loves their work by the outcome of the efforts. After creating the basic lines of the gown, Celeste and Natalie went over each piece of it, deciding where tiny sequins (no-see-ums, a see-through sequin that makes the dress sparkle in the light) could be placed to highlight the dress without overwhelming the bride’s small stature. The gorgeous result incorporated the lace sleeves and a hand-beaded waistline, intricately done to follow the design of the lace. There is nothing to compare to having a bridal gown custom made. Somehow, this tiny bride lost weight in the months leading up to the wedding. No worries—Celeste and Natalie had that covered! They would not complete the final seams until they were certain the gown would fit perfectly (which it did). At the final fitting, our lovely seamstresses decided the sleeves were an inch too high, pulling the bodice just out of the desired position. After noticing me gazing critically at the back of the gown, they also suggested adding sparkles down the edging of the train’s lace. They sent us off to eat lunch while they kept working. Upon our return, the dress fit perfectly (did I mention it was custom made?). My daughter tried a slight twirl, and voiced a concern that her dad might step on the small train during the father-daughter dance. No problem! Celeste to the rescue! The bride stood still for a few minutes, and Celeste created a bustle to raise the train and protect it from potential footprints. The seamstresses even created a beautiful garter from the lace of the gown. We brought the dress home two weeks before the wedding, which gave me time to show it off to plenty of admirers (women only—my daughter was of the firm conviction that no men could see it until the wedding day!). On the morning of her wedding, my daughter, hair and makeup complete, easily slid into her gown, and turned into a princess. Although initially very careful with her movements and not bending over at all, she quickly realized that the construction of her dress allowed for easy and fluid motions; the dress kept its shape and position with no intervention. I don’t know if it was the design of the dress or the fabrics used (I assume both!), but the bride’s dress never showed a single wrinkle, despite three car trips, a reception dinner, and several hours on the dance floor. At the end of the evening, the bride and groom visited both of their families’ homes, and still her dress looked great! Numerous guests commented on the elegance and simplicity of the gown (not that it was a simple dress by any stretch of the imagination, but it was not “overdone” or overly ornate, as that was not my daughter’s style). The perfect fit and style was achieved through Celeste and Natalie’s thorough understanding and efforts regarding what my daughter wanted for her wedding day. The purchase of a bridal gown is a once in a lifetime expense. It should also be a once in a lifetime experience. There is no comparison between the type of experience provided by Celeste and Natalie, as they designed and created my daughter’s gown, and purchasing a gown “off the rack” from another store. No one else will ever have a gown just like my daughter’s, and no one should. Her marriage is unique, and custom made for her. So was her dress.

I know that there where other places to buy my dress but why pay so much money when I was just in luck ?? Celeste is by far the best Designer of wedding gowns, she makes custom real silk gowns. The thing I love about her is the love she gives you and she made my dress so perfect so romantic looking and everyone is still talking about my gown. I arrived at Krustallos with a vague idea of I wanted; I had a beautiful skirt that I purchased and loved but I couldn't find a top that I liked. Celeste and Natalie helped me design the perfect piece! I was a little nervous that the cost of a custom made piece would be way outside my budget (which was modest); but the quote Celeste gave was very reasonable. Now that I know the time and effort that actually went into making my top, the price was VERY, VERY good. Service was exceptional, the product was perfect and absolutely beautiful. The quality of Celeste's sewing was top notch! I couldn't have been more happy with the experience and the end result of collaborating with Celeste and Natalie. I would absolutely recommend their services for brides who are looking for something unique and special.
