They have the best wedding planner!
You know why this review is getting 5 stars? 2 words: Aurora Smith. That’s not to say the rest of the hotel/stay/experience was a poor one, but if you want to talk about someone taking care of business, it comes down to Aurora. When we decided to be married, my (future) wife and I wanted to have the ceremony somewhere that reflected the parts of Northern California we loved. We toyed with the redwoods, we looked at Monterey, but in the end, we decided to stay local. As in, 7 minutes from our place, local. From the first meeting, we pretty much settled on The Dream Inn. We forced ourselves to look at other places just for compassion sake. Nothing really had what we were looking for. And they damn sure didn’t have Aurora. Aurora is warm, outgoing, friendly, funny and experienced. In the first hour, we laid out what we were looking for and how we wanted to do things (which was: as easily/smoothly as possible) and she was right on board. We had a couple meetings over the months leading up to the wedding and each time, even if there was some hiccups in the plan, everything got straightened out and was flying right by the end. We didn’t have a lot of money to throw around, so we needed to set limits on how much we would be spending on food, booze, et al. None of this was a problem. On our Wedding day, she was right there to make sure everything went off without a shot. Having just taken part in a wedding in June, dealing with a wedding planner who ran things like a drill instructor, having Aurora there to direct things with a smile and a laugh was a welcome change and exactly why we chose to do things with her. The wedding was great, everyone had a ball. I can’t thank Aurora enough for all her help.
