From beginning to end, the events staff was extremely professional and accommodating. Months before the big day, I was able to meet with them to select a menu, layout seating, and plan for all of those things I hadn't even thought about. Both Kevin and Amie were able to make suggestions that really made our wedding special. We were able to have our cocktail hour at the carousel, and while we took our pictures, guests were able to enjoy snacks and rides on the antique carousel. It really set the mood for a fun-filled evening. With the normal stresses of a busy day, I was able to relax with the museum staff at the helm. Each of our rooms to get ready had plenty of space for us to set up camp for the evening. Our ceremony space was neatly set and welcoming. The dinner tables were beautiful surrounding the mezzanine, accented by the neon glow of the water clock. Dinner was delicious and right on time. Soon, dinner turned to dancing and the rest is history. All of our guests had a blast in this unique venue. The night was truly one of a kind. If you want a unique and beautiful wedding, consider having it at the world's largest Children's Museum! - Kelly M.

Last week, I received phone calls, emails and notes from our wedding guests ... pretty much everyone on the bride's family guest list. The consensus seems to b this: Best place EVER for a wedding reception; Best food EVER at a wedding ... Best hors d'oeuvres, best champagne (loved the hibiscus), best meal and best servers; Best staff EVER ... Most courteous, cooperative and friendly. I just thought u should know!!! Thanks again Dianne McGill

Having our reception at TCM was a must. I love the museum and wanted to share it with family and friends from all over the country. The museum staff went above and beyond to meet and exceed expectations -- guests could not stop talking about how epic our wedding was! My mom was skeptical of our nontraditional location -- that is, until she got there and saw the food and the setup for our cocktail hour in Take Me There --> Egypt! We explored a lot of venues in Indy, and the museum really was a value, despite the higher price tag for the rental itself. Remember, you are also getting staffed galleries in that price, which makes the experience so much more worth it. The catering company is also one of the most reasonable around, and the food is DELICIOUS. We didn't have to pay for tables, chairs or linens, (unless we wanted to upgrade), and there is NO minimum cost to meet. So when your RSVPs come in and people cancel, you don't have to pay for them! Oh, and all the cocktail tables and display tables for the cake? No charge. The extra decor on food tables that matches the gallery? Free. Cake fee? Not for our cupcakes! We even got lower tables for a "kids buffet" but the grown-ups kept taking the dinosaur chicken nuggets. And when our guests ignored the seating chart and some people were left standing, the museum staff quickly set up an additional table and chairs, never bothering any member of the wedding party. The only reason TCM gets four stars for flexibility instead of five is that because there is a sole in-house caterer, people with very specific needs may feel limited (we could not get a certain microbrew beer, for example. We made up for this by having it at our rehearsal dinner instead). Sodexho is very flexible, but if you are a beer snob or wine snob you might have issues. Have you ever been in the museum at night? Think of how cool it would look to dance your first dance in the green and blue glow of the water clock in the atrium. (I can attest, it is really that cool.) And if you ever wanted your bridal portrait with Bumblebee or a T-rex, this is your chance! We definitely got some amazing photos from the evening. The events staff does so much behind the scenes to make your life easier. And they'll make all sorts of adjustments to make things perfect for YOUR day. They're also really creative and can take your vision and make it reality in a very extraordinary way. If you already love the museum, you should book it. If you want your guests to always remember your wedding reception as an EXPERIENCE, then DEFINITELY book it!
