Amazing Venue for Wedding and/or Reception!

4.6/ 5

My wife and I had one of those summers where it seemed like all of our friends got married. We attended 8 weddings held at venues all around the twin cities and several people have told us (and we agree) that ours was the best! The Fine Line played a large part in making that possible. The Fine Line Music Cafe offered a unique, contemporary setting for the occasion which was custom-designed to fit our reception vision. It felt like all options were on the table when working with the staff to design the evening – decorations, open/cash bar setup, food, music, lights, entrances, bands/DJs, MC’s – whatever we wanted, there was a way to make it happen. This is definitely not one of those “you will do it our way” type of venues! We held our ceremony in the atrium of the Minneapolis City Hall six blocks away from the Fine Line reception. Upon arrival our guests received a “concert ticket” which were custom printed for our occasion which included their name and seating location, it read “The FL Presents: Bride and Groom; Guest Name – Table #”… it was SO COOL! We had cocktail hour and with two large bars, the flow of people, drinks and food was smooth. They played background music which we provided, ran a slideshow on the large built-in projector and our speeches were given on stage. Ever have trouble hearing the wedding speeches? Not at the Fine Line – this place is designed for concerts and has an amazing acoustic setup. Our band (DJ’s are fine, but I would highly recommend a band at this place, it’s made for live music!) was amazing and packed the disco- and laser-lighted dance floor. The heavy appetizer food we served was delicious and commented on by many of our guests. The staff was incredibly helpful with thinking of cool ideas, setting up and taking down decorations, and customizing the service for our needs. Overall, if you’re looking for flexible, unique, modern experience in the heart of First Ave in Minneapolis, look no further, The Fine Line is your place! Highly recommended venue for both ceremonies and wedding receptions. Enjoy!

3 years later, and our guests STILL comment on our Wedding!

4.6/ 5

When we began our search for the ‘perfect wedding/reception’ location here in Minneapolis, we started at our favorite music venue, The Fine Line. We looked around some more before finally coming back to our original place, and we are so happy we did! Our wedding was on Memorial Day weekend — which was a great time to spend in downtown Mpls, as it was fairly deserted. We had a lot of out of town guests, and everyone was able to walk or take the lightrail between wedding event locations. The Fine Line made it so easy to work with them and create a fun a memorable wedding reception for us AND our guests! Because we had so many attendees, we had to do a buffet (instead of plated dinner), which concerned me. However, the food was delicious and fresh and they even created a salad & dressing from scratch just to please me! We wanted to mix & match a lot of different scenic elements & different kinds of food, and the Fine Line was very open and accommodating. They even let me create my own floor plan and did everything they could to make the environment exactly as I envisioned it in my drawing! I’m pretty sure we did things completely different from how they generally set up wedding receptions, but they never said ‘no’ to any of our requests, including where we wanted specific things located, like the cake table and buffet, the set up of the cocktail hour, ‘butler’ passed hors d’oeuvres, gift table, structure for the evening or anything else. Are there things we would have changed about our wedding weekend? Perhaps a few minor things (like picking a different DJ and remembering to double check my self-created seating chart!), but overall our entire wedding weekend was amazing — and when family and friends are STILL commenting on how much fun it was 3 years after the fact, you know you did something right — and for us, that includes choosing the Fine Line for our wedding celebration!

Our Fabulous Fine Line Wedding

5/ 5

I really cannot say enough good things about our experience with the Fine Line. They were responsive. They were very reasonably priced. They were accommodating. Their staff was extremely friendly and helpful, both leading up to the wedding and during the wedding. We took full advantage of the A/V equipment and had a slideshow running on the tv screens throughout the club. The audio guy ran music from my ipod throughout the evening. He even helped me to edit the song to which I walked down the aisle to help the timing. The staff really helped us to make the place our own for the evening and to ensure that our wedding was exactly as we envisioned. In short, if you’re looking for a unique, inviting, fun, attractive and dynamic atmosphere for your wedding, the Fine Line is the perfect venue.   (By the way, the wedding date listed is not our wedding date. I’m apparently technologically impaired and could not get the calendar to move backwards. We were married on 12/16/2007.)

Check reception venue off of your to-do list. Book the Fine Line!

5/ 5

The Fine Line does weddings?! That’s what my husband and I heard when we stated that the Fine Line was our reception venue. So yes the Fine Line does weddings. I feel a bit selfish wanting to keep this little secret to myself! But the Fine Line is so great, twist my arm, I’ll share. I’ll try to write this review in a way that I would have found helpful to read. As a bride and groom, you are looking for a reception venue that is a good value. You are looking for a space that will reflect you as a couple. A place with some personality. A place with good food. A place to have a good time. A place easy to work with. A places that you and your guests will remember. I know this, because I have come before you! My husband and I knew that we didn’t want the typical wedding venue. We wanted a space that had an attitude all it’s own, instead of us dragging in a bunch of props to create the right atmosphere. The Fine Line is trendy, elegant, chic and definately not cookie cutter. We loved the high celings, the neon lights, the 2 levels, the stage, the lights, the clean and spacious bathrooms, the fact that there was a designated DJ area and a real bar. The event staff were wonderful. Since my husband and I tend to think out of the box, all of our ideas and needs were welcomed and accommodated. The event staff were on top of all the details. I loved this as it was one less place/person to keep tabs on. The Fine Line gave a busy bride and groom a break! Planning a wedding at the Fine Line went so smooth. The Fine Line’s professionalism carried over into the actual wedding reception night. The night of the wedding, our guests consistently commented on how beautiful and unique the space was. Our guests commented on how great and friendly the wait staff was. Our guests raved about the food. And almost 2 years later we still hear how great our wedding was. This was the perfect venue for us. As a bride and groom in the Twin Cities there are a lot of reception venues to choose from. The Fine Line is something different (in a great way). Something classy and hip. So stop your exhaustive searching…The Fine Line will give you the venue you want and the event staff will be wonderful to work with. The result is a reception that you and your guests will love and rave about. Check reception venue off of your to-do list. Book the Fine Line!

An incredible experience

4.8/ 5

We had been looking for a comfortable and intimate experience that could handle both the reception and the ceremony, The Fine Line absolutely nailed it. The staff was incredibly helpful, even going so far as to start the tear down of decorations before we had arrived the next morning (huge in my book, the absolute last thing I wanted to do the morning after my wedding was clean up). The food was phenomenal, the access to the alley was perfect and I wouldn’t have changed a single thing about the day. Most guests were very impressed at how well The Fine Line worked for both reception and ceremony. Most people who ask us about the day have a brief moment of surprise when they hear of the location. Once we describe the entire event, their surprise turns to envy. I had had initial reservations about the location since the area had a decent amount of bars and other nightlife attractions, I was worried that people would attempt to enter uninvited. This was taken care of easy as pie with someone manning the front door. All in all, I would recommend this venue to anyone For those that are curious, our final guest count was 164
