  • My fiance is the cook in our relationship – and our current favorite meal started as an experiment. We bought spinach tortellini, a bottle of mushroom alfredo sauce, a couple boneless chicken breasts, a clove of garlic and shiitake mushrooms. Mix everything together – it was amazing!!

    Our date is August 24, 2013 and we can’t wait!!

    Both my fiancé and I love to cook! We are constantly trying new things, and have our ‘ole tried and true recipes as well. One thing we love to make together are baked spring rolls. We make them with lean turkey burger, lots of veggies, ginger, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and wrap them in spring roll wrappers and bake them at 325, for about 20 min. We recently got a bamboo steamer… so we are anxious to try this tried and true recipe steamed, vs. baked.
    (My fiancé also makes AMAZING steak and shrimp. We also make a mushroom sauce, which is reduced in wine, for the top of the steak… I wish you could taste it).
    We have an unending list of things we love to cook though. My signature dish by myself, is a whole chicken stuffed with lemon, thyme, and garlic, wrapped in bacon, and roasted in the oven. It’s awesome as well.
    We are excited to get married on September 22, 2012, and spend the rest of our days cooking a life together! 🙂

    One of mine and my fiance’s favorite recipes is my homemade pico de gallo! He asks me to make it all the time! It includes tomatoes, red onion, garlic powder, salt, pepper, hot sauce, jalapeno peppers, cilantro, lime juice, and lots of love!!! Pretty much you just cut up all the ingredients and add what you think it needs more of until it tastes just right. But for a basic outline, I use about 2 or 3 tomatoes, 1/2 a red onion, 1tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, 2 tbsp hot sauce, 1/4 cup chopped jalapenos, 1 bundle of cilantro leaves chopped, and the juice of 1 lime. It tastes amazing. Our wedding date is May 25, 2013!

    A favorite recipe would have to be the very simple; Margherita Grilled Pizza 😀

    Step 1: Light the grill and lightly oil the grates.
    Step  2: Roll out your prepared (or store bought) pizza dough and cook for 3-5 minutes then flip
                 it over.
    Step 3: Add the toppings! For this pizza, we add sliced tomatoes, basil, ripped up slices of
                mozzarella, and a tiny bit of italian dressing!
    Step 4: Keep on the grill until you think its done!
    Step 5 : Enjoy!

    My fiance and I have this favorite fast dish that we love to make during our very busy weeks. It really doesn’t have a name as it is a creation of ours, but we have dubbed it the Taco Goulash. It is one pound ground beef made into taco meat per the directions on the taco seasoning packet, mix in to that one drained can of diced tomatoes with chiles, one drained can of whole kernel sweet corn and let simmer.  Next make a box of shells and cheese macaroni and cheese.  Mix the meat and vegetables together with the macaroni and cheese and you have one fast, easy, spicy, delicious meal!  We like this so much, we make it at least once a week.  Our wedding date is May 19, 2012.

    My fiancé and I love taco night but we make it with a healthy twist. He doesn’t eat meat and I have a wheat allergy so we get morning star ground met starters, add ground beef meat seasoning to it, sautée it in a skillet then take full romain leaves and make lettuce wraps. We put out sides of low fat shredded cheese, fat free sour cream, hot salsa, a little guacamole, and chopped onions and peppers. It’s not only filling but they are fun to make!     Hello! My fiance is the master chef! However, I did attempt and find success with this recipe! He really enjoyed it!

    Artichoke pasta:
    – Sautee 1/2 cup diced tomato, 1/3 cup diced black olives, 1 garlic clove, 1/3 cup capers, and 1 small jar of articoke halves in 4 tbsp of olive oil!
    – Serve over 16 oz angel hair pasta.
    Simple! I hope you take a liking to it!

    Hi! My favorite dish is Pumpkin Soup! My mom makes it from scratch every Thanksgiving. We started making it after my great-grandfathers care taker made it for us at his last Thanksgiving. Not only do I find it delicious, but it also brings back good memories of the family being together.     My fiance makes the BEST kabobs! We marinade steak in soy sauce, worcester sauce, red wine vinegar and chopped garlic. Then we chop up red, green peppers, onions, cherry tomatoes, we even somtimes add mushrooms and potatoes! Whatever we have on hand or is in season! Throw them on the grill and yum!     My fiance and I have the same favorite dish..baked chicken spaghetti. Cooked the same as regular spaghetti, just sub with chicken. Bake covered at 350 for 30-45 minutes. Add cheese. 10/17/12 is our date.

    Hi there! Our favorite simple, go-to recipe is baked brie with dried cranberries, honey and walnuts. Slice a wheel of brie horizontally so you have two half wheels; sprinkle some dried cranberries, honey and walnuts on one side and top it with the other half (kind of like a sandwich), then wrap the brie sandwich in puff pastry, pop it into the oven and drizzle with a little honey when it comes out. Voila! We are getting married 3.30.13.

    Homemade grilled chicken tacos has been a favorite staple of our dinner table recently!  Grilled chicken, homemade taco seasoning, homemade all wheat taco shells, fresh veggies with a side of brown mexican rice.  Delish!  We top it all off with a fruit dessert of Rhubarb Vanilla Compote wrapped in crepes :).

    I love Chicken Cordon Bleu, but with the sauce and ham it always felt a little on the heavy side. Over the past couple of years I have found a recipe that makes my favorite a whole lot lighter and healthier. In CCB you use the following ingredients:
    -Chicken breast-Skinless and boneless
    -Turkey (instead of ham) slices
    -Bell pepper (can use red, green, yellow, orange- whatever you prefer)
    -olive oil
    -swiss cheese (or really whichever you prefer)
    – salt and pepper to taste

    You will hollow out the center of the Chicken to allow you to place ingredients inside. I start by placing the bell pepper on the outermost area touching the chicken breast because it seems to hold the “hole” in the chicken open better. then place a few turkey slices and cheese to fill the center. Then I cover the outside of the breast with a little olive oil so the chicken seems “roasted” when baked. Add salt and pepper to taste Place in the over on 350 degrees F for 25-30 minutes depending on the size of the breast. Enjoy!

    I like to pair this with some steamed veggies or some applesauce! Hope you enjoy my recipe and try it out sometime. I would love to hear if you liked it and some alternatives you used for it.

    My fiance and I love making grilled rosemary chicken with grilled tomato and crispy bacon on top. Once it is all put together we melt Cheddar cheese on top and with a side of organic mashed sweet potatoes with brown sugar and candied walnuts. Best dinner ever! Our wedding date is June 16, 2012

    My fiance, Kevin, makes the BEST Chicken Cordon Bleu. He uses a recipe on a dinner spinner app and it just turns out perfect with a delicious creamy sauce drizzled on top.     My fiancee and I make delicious, fun dishes out of whatever we can find! I sometimes wish I wrote these down, because I never remember exactly what happened after. One time we did make a tofu stir fry with crispy onions, carrots, sugar snap peas and green apples! We just opened the fridge and started chopping stuff up and tossing it in the skillet!     Being from Oklahoma, I absolutely love any type of Tex-Mex, especially if it’s healthy! My fiancé is from Montana so introducing him to tasty and spicy Mexican food is always fun. Our favorite dish is my sour cream chicken enchiladas. I make homemade salsa and guacamole to smother on top and black beans for the side. It makes great left overs too!     Cooking has never been a strong point of mine, from trying to cook frozen chicken (this is not a joke!     My wedding date is Sept. 21, 2012, which will the happiest day of my life, I will be marrying my best friend. He acutally proposed April fools day.. He said it would be a day I would never forget and he is right, we are country since we are from Kentucky so cooking is something we love to do, or he says “we” I say “I” lol but my favorite thing to cook is a fun dip that I can take to gathering which is called Buffalo Wing Dip, you need 2-3 medium sized chicken breasts, cooked and shredded, 1 bottle of Texas pete buffalo wing sauce, 2 (8 oz) blocks of cream cheese, ranch dressing medium sized bottle, 1 bag of shredded cheddar cheese. Next you place the shredded chicken in a 9 x 13 pan. Pour bottle of buffalo wing sauce (more or less for desired heat- I usually use about 3/4 of the bottle) over the chicken. Mix cream cheese and dressing together and pour over chicken. cover with shredded cheese. bake at 350 degrees for about 30-40 minutes, then let cool and enjoy. Your Fiance and his friends will love it! 🙂

    My fiance and I are getting married August 16 2013! We both love to cook and LOVE to eat even more! I recently tried this new mexican recipe called stuffed shells enchiladas its a little twist of pasta shells instead of tortillas. You stuff the shells with ground turkey, beans, tomatoes, and olives then smoother in cheese and bake for 45 min. Thus dish is to die for my fiancé wants it at least once a week!!

  • My fiance’s favorite meal I make is one of the simplest and cheapest! I make a tatertot casserole with tots, hamburger, sour cream and cheese and he’ll eat it for days!! I love his steaks and pork chops on the grill, actually anything he does on the grill is great!

  • My best recipe has been passed down from my mom. It is a double chocolate chip pound cake, but not just any chocolate pound cake! The secret is to add chocolate pudding and sour cream along with mini chocolate chips. This recipe was even featured in Paula Dean’s (The Best of Paula Dean) magazine with our family’s name. It is delicious (especially warm out of the oven with vanilla ice cream) and a favorite of all of our family and friends! Our wedding date is January 5, 2013.

    So I basically don’t know how to cook. So at our Bridal Shower each guest brought a recipe for something special to them and their family. My favorite recipe i received and I’m dying to try is from my Aunt Kimberly (and was actually a recipe of her moms who just passed away a few months ago!) For Pot roast. The best part about the whole recipe card was that in the part for number of persons the recipe serves she wrote a whole family 🙂 it made my heart melt as we are planning to start our family soon too! My fiance and I are getting Married next Saturday April 21st 2012 and we would love to start our marriage out with new kitchen things! (and it would be a nice surprise for Hubby to be as he does most of the cooking around our house!) I can’t wait to be married and start trying all the fun recipes from our shower!

    Sooo most people LOVE spinach dip and I have to say, I have a recipe that will make you never buy pre-made spinach dip again….no seriously! Super easy! 1 cup mayo, 1 cup sour cream, 1 package cooked chopped spinach, using a Hammer Stahl knife cut up 1 can water chestnuts, and the secret ingredient….drum roll please 1 package of dry Leek Soup.     The best dish that I love to make is chicken lasagna. I boil the chicken, the noodles. I have four different cheeses in the dish as well as spinach. I layer it with sauce, noodles, chicken, cheese until my pan is full. I probably make too much but we love to eat it.     The most delish dish that I make that is gobbled up instantly is homemade chicken bbq pineapple quesadillas! They are so juicy and scrumptous!
    Just need cooked and cubed chicken (shredded also works really well), pineapple that is cut up and sauted or grilled, your favorite kind of cheese, grilled onions and your favorite bbq sauce! All you do is build up the layers on one tortilla spreading the bbq sauce on the first tortilla then add chicken, cheese, onions and pineapple then place another tortilla on top and just let it brown in a saute pan to toast up the tortillas and melt the cheese.     Ingredients
    1 Rolled Refrigerated Pie Crust, 3 Granny Smith apples and 3 Golden Delicious apples, peeled, cored and cut in half, lemon juice, 3/4 cup sugar, 2 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice, 1 pinch of salt, 1/4 cup room temperature butter , 1 cup heavy whipping cream and 3 tablespoons powdered sugar (Could use RediWhip)
    Directions
    Roll out the pie crust to fit the skillet (edge to edge).  Return to fridge.
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
    Slice each apple in 2 and place the halves in a bowl of water with a bit of lemon juice to keep them from browning. In a small bowl, combine the sugar with 2 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice and the salt.In a skillet over medium-high heat add the butter. Sprinkle 3/4 of the sugar mixture over the melted butter. Arrange the apple halves flat side down in the pan. Sprinkle the remaining sugar over the apples. Cook until the caramel syrup turns a deep golden brown color, about 15 minutes. Carefully arrange the chilled pie crust over the top of the cooked apples and use a spatula to tuck in the edges.Put the skillet in the oven and bake until the crust is cooked and is slightly brown in color, about 15 to 20 minutes. Remove the skillet from the oven and let it stand for around 5 minutes, then invert the pie onto a serving platter.In a medium bowl, using a hand mixer on medium speed, whip the heavy cream with the confectioners’ sugar and the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice until soft peaks form. Or use RediWhip!!!Serve the warm tart on individual plates with a dollop of whipped cream

There easy for families with or with out children. You can dress enchilladas up or down.     My name is Rachel, my fiance’s name is Keith (RLMENDOZA4@AOL.COM) and our favorite dish to make is simply spagetti with meatsauce, it’s a simply dish that we can make together with homemade garlic bread. We usually have this once every other week so that we can spend some time together. We do cheat on the sauce and buy good old ragu and add ground beef, but we flavor with onion powder, garlic powder, some chili pepper for a little kick and a little salt and pepper. We flip flop between types of noodles, but usually I’ll set the ground beef to thaw and I’ll boil the water while he pours the sauce and spices into the pot for the ground beef. Once the water for the noodles boil I pour them in and he plops the beef into the sauce stirring occasionally. (We flavor to taste, no measuring spoons in sight!) Once the sauce and noodles are just about ready Keith takes the bread and adds the butter and garlic, pops that in the oven and in a few minutes we have our meal. The best part is that we make extra so we have lunch for tomorrow. I top the meal with a glass of wine while he usually opts for a twisted tea then we enjoy the product of our labor while watching some tv together 🙂

    Best dish that I and my family love to make together are “Junk Burgers”.  It includes hamburger meat, ketchup, any spice you like, and brown sugar.  You mix all 4 together to tastes (I usually use a cup a ketchup and a cup of brown sugar per pound of meat and use spices to taste), form your hamburger patties and throw them on the grill!!  They are great if you are looking for something different.  You can eat them with buns or even by themselves!  Plus it is something that my family can do together. 🙂  Our wedding date is July 21, 2012!!  My email address is hollygillim@hotmail.com

    My name is Lauren West. My fiance, Patrick, and I are getting married October 27,2012. Patrick travels for work, so we really only get to spend a couple weekends together a month. When he is in town he always wants a savory home cooked meal. His favorite of my dishes is baked spaghetti. You brown ground beef, then add tomato sauce and tomato paste, and a little sugar. While that is on the stove cook your spaghetti noodles. Then in a bowl mix sour cream, cream cheese and green onions together. When all of that is ready layer in a baking dish, the noodles first, then the cream cheese mix, then the tomato sauce. Top it off with some shredded cheese and stick it in the oven to bake! The dish is great left over so Patrick can take it on the road as well!

    Preheat oven to 375 F

    In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs, milk, pineapple and juice, bread cubes, and vanilla. Mix together. Bake in a 2 quart casserole dish for 45 minutes.

    One dish that keeps the men in my family calling is my ground turkey chili. I use a lean ground turkey and plenty of fresh veggies that I couldn’t get the guys to eat unless it was in that pot of chili. Serve it up in a big bowl with fat free sour cream, cheese, some even smother spaghetti noodles with it! Sometimes I even pair it with a nice slice of sweet corn bread. Yummy!!!

    We are getting married on June 2, 2012 (a whopping 53 days)! My best dish is a chicken wrapped in bacon dish that I covered with a sweet/spicy glaze. You take chicken tenderloins, wrap them in thick cut bacon and place them in a glass baking dish. You cover it with a mixture (mixed before you put it on) of brown sugar (about 1 cup) 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 cup hot jalapeño jelly, 1tablespoon minced garlic, 1/2 tablespoon pepper, 1/4 cup honey. Bake at 350 for 20-25 mins and then drain drippings into a pan and add a teaspoon of cornstarch or flour to make Into a glaze.( Add more as needed)
    Favorite side dish is ranch rice..
    Brown 1 lb o country sausage with 1 medium sized diced onion, 1 tablespoon water and a packet of dry ranch dip mix. When meat is browned, add 8oz cream cheese, 3/4 cup milk and 2cups cooked rice and heat until melty and creamy! It’s delicious and a family favorite!

Then add in cranberries, walnuts or pecans, chopped pear, feta cheese, and bacon bits. If you’d like add some protein like salmon, chicken or steak. It is so easy and so good!!

    2/3 C Cake Flour1/3 Tsp Baking Soda6.5 Tablespoons of butter1/3 C Sugar1/3 C Packed light brown sugar1 egg2 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted & let cool for 15 minutes1/3 C Buttermilk1/3 Tsp Vanilla9 Mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, chilled in freezer for about 30 minutes.Preheat to 350. Cream the butter & both types of sugars together. Add the egg and scrape down the sides of the bowl (if you don’t have a super cool SideSweep like me:) ). Add the melted/cooled chocolate and mix until incorporated. Scrape down sides of bowl. In a small bowl, combine the cake flour & baking soda, and in a measuring cup, combine the buttermilk and vanilla extract. Alternately, add the flour mixture and the buttermilk mixture to the chocolate mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Spray cupcake tins with non-stick spray, and fill cupcake wells 2/3 full. Remove peanut butter cups from the freezer, unwrap, and press into the batter in the cupcake tins so that the top of the peanut butter cup just peeks out of the batter. 

    Peanut Butter Frosting1/2 Stick of butter, soft1/2 C Crunchy Peanut Butter1 1/2 Tbl milk1 C confectioner’s sugarPut peanut butter in a food processor and pulse until most of the big peanut chunks are broken up. Add the butter, and pulse until full incorporated and peanut chunks are further broken up. Scoop into bowl of an electric mixer. Gradually mix in the sugar. As it gets thicker and thicker, add milk as needed to get the correct consistency. 

    I find that the cake is moister the second day.

    4 Spinach Tortillas
    4 Tablespoons fat free cream cheese
    1 Package sprouts – broccoli or bean
    8 sun-dried tomatoes, cut in half
    1/2 cup chopped cucumbers
    4-8 slices of yellow bell pepper
    1 avocado – diced
    1/2 cup shredded carrots
    1/2 cup shredded purple cabbage
    4 teaspoons sesame seeds
    Directions:
    Spread a thin layer of cream cheese (one tablespoon each) on half of each tortilla and proceed to top the other half of each tortilla with a 1/4 the sprouts, 4 sun-dried tomato halves, 1/4 of the chopped cucumbers, 2 slices of yellow pepper, 1/4 of the avocado, 1/4 of the shredded carrots, 1/4 of the shredded cabbage and a teaspoon of sesame seeds. Proceed to wrap each tortilla tucking one end in and “sealing” it closed with the cream cheese side of the tortilla.

    This is healthy (though don’t tell my family :-P) and has quickly become a family favorite.

    My fiancé and I are getting married on May 25th, 2013. We actually live to cook together. Spending meal times together is a chance for us to catch up at least once a day since we work opposite schedules.

    His favorite dish of mine is an oldie with a twist. We take about 4 chicken breasts and cube them up. We pan fry out chicken with a splash of worstershire sauce and some Mrs. Dash. Drain most of the juice. Preheat the oven to 350, and prepare your green bean casoral as normal. (I am lactose intolerant so I use water instead of milk) mix it all together, add drenches onions and bake for 30 minutes. It’s an easy meal, and you wouldn’t believe how often I get begged to make my green bean casoral.

    One of my favorite recipies to make is Bark.  You layer a pan with crackers and then in a pot melt together butter and brown sugar until it comes to a light boil.  Dump the butter and brown sugar over the crackers and bake that.  Once that is finished, set it out and let it cool alittle bit and once it is warm, dump a bag of chocolate morsels onto the crackers, brown sugar and butter and spead it evenly.  Refrigerate it over night and break it into pieces and enjoy.  It is perfect for any occasion and everyone loves it!

    I teach middle school students how to cook, but my favorite student (BY FAR) is my fiance’. We love to experiment when cooking and to give classic dishes our own twist. My favorite dish to make is lasagna because it is so versatile and delicious every time. It is especially fun because it is an easy dish to make as a couple (one spoons the filling, the other layers the noodles). It’s interesting to try different spices, cheeses and pastas and to cut into the different layers of flavor. We have tried Veggie lasagna, Pizza lasagna, Chocolate lasagna and even Buffalo Chicken lasagna! This dish will always hold a warm place in my heart but our pans are falling apart.     My mother is a great baker and taught me everything I know, but lately I’ve been getting more adventurous with my cooking.  My fiance and I are getting married June 23, 2012 and we love to make dinner together most nights.  Our favorite dish for a busy night where we don’t have a lot of time is vegetarian burritos.  I saute diced bell peppers (whatever colors I have on hand) and onion in olive oil.  Then I add a can of black beans (rinsed & drained), some frozen corn and various amounts of cumin, chili powder, oregano, coriander and red pepper flakes.  Needless to say, some nights it’s a little spicier than others.  Once the flavors are melded together, we serve it on top of warmed flour or corn tortillas, topped with shredded cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes and guacamole (if I have an avocado).  This meal is delicious and it’s very quick to fix!  Plus it makes great leftovers for lunch the next day.

    As a recently engaged couple, my fiance and I are really enjoying the task of learning how to cook!  We have tried several recipes, but have found out we cook the best when we are just having fun in the kitchen and around the grill.  Our favorite dish so far is Parmesan chicken with noodles and red pasta sauce.  We have tried several different sides with this, but we love cooked vegetables, salad, and garlic bread.  We enjoy helping each other out and just being around each other in the kitchen!

    I love to cook for my fiance. We cook most meals with ground turkey, chicken, and seafood. we try to use mostly organic produce. We love to eat turkey tacos, turkey burgers, and turkey meatloaf. My turkey burger recipe is: 2 pounds of ground turkey, 4 jalapenos, 1 onion, 5 cloves of garlic, and a handful of fresh cilantro. I use the food processor to chop the ingredients and then a form the turkey patties. I cook them 20 minutes on medium heat on each side. I lower the heat and cook each side for additional 10 minutes and add pepper jack cheese. I serve them on tortillas, whole wheat bread or a bed of lettuce with traditional toppings pickles, tomato, and onion. My fiance like eating them on bread or tortilla and prefer mine on a salad with all fixings. I make a special sauce of mustard and A1 sauce.     My best dish is lemon herb baked salmon with roasted potatoes, asparagus and stuffed mushrooms. This dish takes long in prep time but the outcome is fantastic. I marinade the salmon overnight in a homemade lemon herb sauce. I also saute the asparagus in the same sauce. I use simply red potatoes sprinkled with sea salt. The stuffing for the mushrooms is just cream cheese, crushed garlic and crab meat seasoned with cayenne pepper salt and black pepper. I usually only make this dish for special events so its always a request with my family during the holidays and my fiance when we’re having date night. Our wedding date is October 5, 2012

They are delicious and fairly healthy.  You combine spinach, Italian sausage, garlic, cottage cheese, lemon juice, and a few eggs to make the filling.  Then stuff large pasta shells and top with a basic tomato sauce and mozzarella.     My best recipe is by far my chocolate chip cookies.  I have a secret ingrediet (pudding mix) that keeps the cookies soft for months.  When my fiance would deploy, those were what he and his guys would always request – however, they are not by any means my favorite thing to cook.  My favorite thing to cook is my chicken and itialian sausage quesadillas with home made quacamole. My fiance can make a mean microwave burrito =) We are getting  married on October 6, 2012 and my email is mandy_5411@hotmail.com.  Thanks!

    My grandmother moved here from Slobakia when she was 11 but she still makes some of the food they used to make on her farm. My absolute favorite is her homemade bread! It is made from scratch using only a few simple ingredients and no measurements. It became a tradition for the four generations in my family to make the bread before Easter every year. My fiance was able to spend the holidays with us for the first time last year and got a chance to taste it. It’s a tradition I will definately continue once we move into our house!

    My fiancee is the real cook of the future family!  I am lucky that I’m marrying a somewhat professional chef (on June 16th, 2012) considering my cooking skills are comparatively sub-par.  There is not anything he doesn’t cook, but my favorite of all time is the grilled vegetable cheesecake appetizer (with roasted tomatoes, roasted squash, goat cheese, ricotta, and parmesan).  YUM!!!  I can’t wait until the wedding, so I can eat this guiltily delicious dish again 🙂

    My wedding is 10-11-12. The dish I love the most is the potato encrusted cod and corn on the cob and garlic mashed potatoes ( with some of the skins left on). My fiances daughter who is 6 loves to help me cook most of our family meals. I also have started a scrapbook of all my recipes and so far I have around 10 that i have made myself and some passed down to me.     Have to admit, my fiance and I aren’t the best cooks though I’m convinced we’d be a whole lot better with the help of some quality cookware (the $20 dollar cutlery set from Target isn’t quite working out)! I’m praying for some good knives that won’t snap at the handle! We do have a couple favorite dishes though, most of them easy mix-and-stick-it-in-the-oven casseroles. But one we’ve really come to love is a spiced chicken recipe (literally the easiest recipe imagined, but soooooo good). Sprinkle basil, parsley, and garlic evenly on a 9X13 pan. Place chicken breast in pan. Sprinkle basil, parsley, garlic, and red pepper flakes over chicken. Place a slice of tomato on each chicken breast. Throw in the oven and cook. I fit seven chicken breasts in the pan and cook enough for half the week! Throw some vegetable stir fry next to it and I got myself an easy, low calorie, meal!

    Our wedding date is Oct 13, 2012. We would very much enjoy your new cook and bakeware. My fiancé has grown to enjoy cooking, on the weekends we try to use a new recipe or incorporate new ingredients. One of our favorites is stir fry or grill veggies Asparagus, zucchini,yellow and red peppers, water chestnuts and squash sauté in olive oil adding onion powder, pepper and sea salt for 7 min then finish with fresh lime juice. Compliments all proteins.
    A fun baking project that we are doing together for the wedding is baking mini soda bread using my great grandmothers recipe from Ireland and serving at wedding as favors.

    My favorite dish to make (and my fiance’s favorite dish) is my Buffalo Chicken Dip, with Frito’s.  I use 2-3 boneless skinless chicken breasts, boil them up, shred it up.  Then I take about 1 cup of Franks Red Hot Buffalo sauce , 1 cup of blue cheese dressing, 1 block of softened cream cheese, and half a bag of shredded sharp cheese and mix it all together. Then, place mixture in baking dish.  Put the rest of the shredded cheese on top of mixture. Bake for 25 minutes or until cheese on top is fully melted 🙂 Then, serve and use Frito Scoops to dip…yummmm.

    My best dish is lemon herb baked salmon with roasted potatoes, asparagus and stuffed mushrooms. This dish takes long in prep time but the outcome is fantastic. I marinade the salmon overnight in a homemade lemon herb sauce. I also saute the asparagus in the same sauce. I use simply red potatoes sprinkled with sea salt. The stuffing for the mushrooms is just cream cheese, crushed garlic and crab meat seasoned with cayenne pepper salt and black pepper. I usually only make this dish for special events so its always a request with my family during the holidays and my fiance when we’re having date night. Our wedding date is October 5, 2012

    My fiance Dan and I love to make super yummy meals every Sunday. It has actually turned into a fun competition between us to see who can get the most creative. One of our favorite recipes to make is Crepe Breakfast Bowls. You make a little shell out of crepes and then fill it with egg, bacon or sausage, and cheese and then you bake it. It makes a great breakfast brunch or lunch. We have also made a mexican version with salsa, eggs chees and seasoned beef. Our daughter likes a sweet version with eggs, cream and apple butter. So it is a fun dish where everyone can add creativity  Our wedding date is 11/18/12

    I love to cook! My fiancé however, can’t even boil water! He has to be the pickiest eater I have ever met. He will not eat anything, unless it’s microwaved or processed. His idea of cooking is throwing his “chicken in a bag” (chicken voila), into a pan and letting it burn to a crisp, because that’s how he likes his food, burnt. He has mananaged to ruin all of our pans, baking sheets, etc. All but the cast iron pan of course! About the only thing I can get him to eat is my breaded pork chops. I use the panko crumbs, because they just make everything crispier. Everytime I make it, I alter it slightly to get him to taste different favors. Sometimes, I put just a splash of Dijon on them before I bread them. We could most definitely use a new pot and pans set, since ours are all burnt! Our wedding day is October 12, 2013. Maybe I can throw in some cooking lessons on my registry for him!!

    mikkib_2000@yahoo.com – October 13, 2012:  My fiance likes to brag about how he can cook but really, the only thing he can cook is spaghetti so I do the lion’s share of the cooking which is OK – he handles the laundry (how about that, a man who can do laundry AND he even shampoos the carpets in our home on a regular basis).  So because I do the cooking, I try to come up with quick and easy menus – he’s meat and potatoes but I love my veggies so the menu is well-balanced, whther he eats the veggies or not…We both are foodies and enjoy watching The Food Network so I get alot of great ideas for changing up a meal, now if only I had the right cookware/equipment to give rachael/bobby/paula/irvine a run for their menus.

    My fiance is the chef and I am the baker.  When we first got together I absolutely hated cooking, but with living together and raising a baby I had to get over it quickly. My fiance has enjoyed watching me learn how to cook. We often cook together and help one another out in the kitchen.  One our favorite things to make is cocoa and brown sugar pork chops. It also is prepared with a lot of other different spices.  It is so delicious especially when sauteed with green apples. I mentioned earlier that I am a baker.  I love, love to bake. I have 3 signature cakes that I have perfected, Texas sheet cake, pineapple upside down cake and cheesecake.  My cheesecake is awesome, I actually considered marketing it at point in my life.     My fiance & I just made a special meal together to entertain friends. Everyone loved it!  It is Rigatoni with spareribs and meatballs in the sauce. You cut the spareribs into slices and bake in the oven for about 30 minutes, you then take a big pot on the stove add a couple shakes of olive oil and add the spareribs to sear for a few minutes, then add 2 Hunt’s Spaghetti sauces and 1 tomato paste and turn to low and let simmer for about 3 hours, you can add the frozen meatballs the last hour.  Put the spareribs and meatballs on a separate plate and add the sauce to the cooked Rigatoni, it is delicious!  We weren’t sure if we would like ribs with sauce but it was so good and It’s very easy!  Our wedding date is June 23, 2012 🙂

    Hello! My name is Jennifer Poeppelman & my fiancée’s name is Jason Paulus.
    We’ve been together for just under 3 years & are getting married on October 20th, 2012; we’re both super excited! In the kitchen, I love to create new dishes all of the time. Our cookware is looking fairly sad & we could use a fabulous update, (hint, 😉 hint) One of our favorite dishes to make is my Stuffed Italian Chicken with Bow Tie Pasta. It’s actually pretty simple to make but has lots of prep time. Start off dicing up red, green, yellow, & orange sweet peppers, green onions, mushrooms, garlic & open a can of sweet peas (can use broccoli too); then mix together with Italian dressing. After prepping veggies, take the chicken breasts & slice a pocket into them on the side. Stuff the inside of the breast with some of the mixture & provolone cheese; about 2 spoonfuls. Close each of the breasts & lock in place with a toothpick. Dip the breast into an egg mixture & roll in italian seasoned breadcrumbs; place in oven & bake. Next boil Bowtie pasta in a pot; while, you sauté the veggie mix in a drizzle of olive oil. When the two are done combine & stir together. To Serve, place pasta mixture on plate & lay stuffed chicken on top of pasta & watch as everyone gobbles it up. Hope you Enjoy! 😀 Thanks for the opportunity to share.
