Scott and I wanted our wedding day to be representative of our relationship: meaningful and a ton of fun! We chose our venue because I knew I wanted an outdoor wedding… I was definitely not a fan of a ballroom type atmosphere. Once we set foot onto Paradise Cove, I knew we would get married there. The property is on a lake enveloped by trees… Serene, beautiful and peaceful. It really is paradise.
Our overall theme was Navy Blue & Apple Green Chevron. Beyond that, I wanted the wedding to have a vintage, rustic feel. Everything else kind of developed from there. I let my bridesmaids chose their own navy blue dresses, Scott and the ring bearers wore navy blue chevron ties and all the groomsmen wore funky, mismatched socks and green patterned suspenders. We wanted our fun, playful personalities to be evident.
Scott surprised the crowd during his unforgettable entrance arriving by ski boat.
Baby’s breath in buckets lined the aisle to the ceremony site
and hundreds of butterflies decorated the archway under which we said our vows. My dress even had two silver butterflies on it!
A vintage buffet table server as our cake
table and a small desk held the groom’s cake – the groom’s cake was a Bucco Bruce inspired cake that had a Shocktop beer flavor. It was perfect for Scott as a die-hard Bucs fan!
A red couch served as the photobooth station
and beautiful flowers
in a mix of bottles, vases and mason jars were our centerpieces.
We choreographed an awesome “surprise” dance
that included Dirty Dancing moves, Beyonce’s Single Ladies and The Dougie.
We, also, had The Yum Yum Cupcake Truck come by later in the evening to provide guests with a fantastic take home favor – a delicious cupcake!
It makes it even more special that so many of our friends and family got to take part in our celebration. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day!
