Sofia & Caleb
Date: March 25, 2017
Location: Private Residence, Texas
Caleb and his family had just moved from Alaska, originally from Hawaii, when he first laid eyes on Sofia in a small church in Sealy, Texas. Sofia was blessing the congregation with her amazing voice that Sunday and definitely got Caleb’s attention! He admits to jokingly telling his dad he was going to, “marry that singer one day!” Look at them now!
Sofia began to write little thoughts, letters, and prayers to her future husband in a journal. A few months later, the two had their first date at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Sofia says that after this date she knew she had met her future husband.
“He was super funny, super cute, and such a gentleman.” That’s when Sofia started changing her journal entries from, “To my future husband,” to “Dear Caleb.”
Just after two months after their first date, Caleb took Sofia to a car show on Main Street in Sealy, Texas. He surprised her with a ring hidden in the glove compartment of a 1968 Chevy! The Wedding | Lavender and Lace
The bride was able to mesh a tough of the groom’s Hawaiian culture with a whole lot of southern charm. The ceremony was held at an elegant estate in Austin County, Texas covered by a canopy of trees. The weather was absolutely perfect. There were a number of things for guests to indulge. There was an absolutely fabulous coffee bar, featuring anything you could dream up to put in your coffee! The dessert table from Sweet Southern Thangs was not only adorable but so delicious! A photo booth was also set up for guests that fit the lavender, southern theme. The groom’s mother imported gorgeous leis, fresh from Hawaii, both for the bride and groom. This Hawaiian tradition of exchanging leis is a symbol of love and respect. Caleb’s lei was a manly garland of maile leaves and Sofia’s lei was a stunning white ring of orchids. The groom’s mother presented him with his lei before the ceremony and Caleb presented Sofia’s lei to her at the beginning of the ceremony.
