There’s something that happens to the atmosphere when you add live music. Your event becomes more inviting, people start to feel fancier, and, personally, I have a hard time not feeling the love.
There are of course a few practical reasons to opt for live music, and either way you decide to lean, I know your wedding is going to be beautiful. Here are Three Reasons Why You Should Hire a Ceremony Musician:
Musicians are able to improvise and stretch, to breathe and to add drama through increased volume, pitch or speed. All of that without having to choreograph your ceremony processional. While pressing play on the instrumental version of A Thousand Years gives you and your bridal party 4:46 seconds to reach the front of the aisle, it also means you need to take 4:46 seconds to get to the front.
On the other hand, a live musician can handle an anxiously fast walk by your bridesmaids and groomsmen, and can manage when the flower girl decides to sit down mid-aisle and empty out her petal basket. A ceremony musician means no worries, and it also means a seamless transition for the beginning of your ceremony.
While some DJs include the ceremony as part of their package, others do not and that means adding the ceremony will be an extra cost. It also means a small pause between the ceremony and the cocktail hour, since the DJ will need to transition their setup and themselves and set up sound in a different location. Ceremony musicians are not an extreme cost, most are quite manageable, especially considering their total play time is likely less than an hour.
3. Sets the tone. Like I said, full on romance. If you want your wedding to feel exquisite, elegant, or light and airy, a ceremony musician can help get you off to the right start. Guests will be greeted with soft notes of love songs and that’s one way to accomplish the wedding day of your dreams. Need more ideas on how to take your wedding day to a high level of fancy?
