Weddings can be expensive, but we’ve never heard of someone going this far to pay for one.
Heath Bumpous of Texas was arrested for robbing a bank the day before his wedding.
According to reports, Bumpous went to a Citizens State Bank in Groveton, Texas, and demanded money.
Sheriff Woody Wallace told ABC News, “He basically stated that he was getting married tomorrow so he didn’t have enough money for a wedding ring that he wanted to buy and he needed to pay for the wedding venue.”
The Trinity County Sheriffs Departement quickly posted images of the robbery suspect to their Facebook page, hoping to catch him before too much time had passed.
What no one expected was for his fiance to be the one to identify him. His fiance quickly recognized him from the social media post and called him, convincing him to turn himself in.
Bumpous listened to his bride-to-be’s advice and turned himself in to local authorities.
