2020 Top Wedding Trends
When I first started researching and crafting a list of 2020 Wedding Trends, little did I know that this years weddings would look like no other. While I believe these trends still hold true there is one that has been around for awhile that has now been thrust to the forefront and that is Micro-Weddings.
Tiny intimate weddings have been around for a long time and are different from elopements in that sometimes the couple still invests just as much on a micro – wedding as they would on one with a higher guest count but because their numbers are lower, they are able to hire their dream vendors. Due to Covid-19 this trend may be more solidified for the future as a staple rather than just simply a fad.
In years past blush has been on the forefront of most wedding color palettes out there and while it is beautiful we will see a shift in color palettes well into not only 2020 but 2021. When negative events occur we often turn towards rich and bright colors to signal happiness, joy, and celebration. These rich jewel tones will also be paired in unique ways with fall colors like pumpkin orange next to a spring pale blue in a different season.
The white dress at a wedding may never go out of style but we are seeing more and more unique styles walk down the aisle. From wedding capes to color palettes seeping into the dress itself these are all trends that will be seen in 2020
One of the biggest things I love about 2020 wedding trends is there is an overwhelming encouragement to pick what you as the couple love. To be authentic to who you are and in that we are seeing texture and unique fabrics on tuxes. Velvet jackets, liners with custom fabric, and personalized buttons or cuff links all lend to a unique look for anyone walking down the aisle.
Florals are always one of my favorite parts of the wedding day decor, but man it takes a LOT to get them to look that way. Part of the floral process is often floral foam. Its this dense block of green mess that once soaked helps flowers look pretty and stay fresh but they are also HORRIBLE for the environment and so I am loving the trend in floral design pushing to be more eco-conscious. I also love that couples are becoming more informed about ways they can protect the environment on their wedding day and so this is a trend that I hope continues to stick around for a long time.
